Burkman Bros will soon unveil in shops across the globe their latest range of menswear clothes and accessories for Spring/Summer 2012 inspired by the colours and landscapes of Hawaii. As expected of this creative duo, the clothes come in bright colours, exotic patterns, and relaxed cuts that suggest a carefree holiday atmosphere.
The story goes that Canadian brothers Doug and Ben Burkman acquired a taste for fashion at a very early age. It is rumoured that in order to fund their teenage wardrobes, the duo developed a number of commercial ventures during their Summers. With this entrepreneurial spirit supporting their sartorial ambitions, the pair went on to hone their skills together as designers at Gap, before deciding to start a label of their own. And so the eponymous Burkman Bros label was born.
For Doug and Ben, wearability of their designs is crucial and their 'if I wouldn't wear it, I wouldn't make it' approach to design is well-known. Inspiration for their casual and masculine lines usually comes from their travels. For example, they used their experiences of their most recent holiday in Hawaii to design the range of shorts, drawstring pants, and tank tops for their Spring/Summer 2012 collection that allows men to stay cool and stylish in hot weather.
With its vibrant designs and casual shapes, Burkman Bros’s clothes and accessories have been deservedly popular with stylish men worldwide. The label’s global appeal is evident in the numerous stores where it can be found, in countries as far afield as Australia, Canada, France, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain, UK, USA, as well as in several online retailers.
