Swedish fashion label Cos has unveiled the lookbook for its Spring/Summer 2013 menswear and womenswear collection. Concepts such as utility and structure are explored to create silhouettes that conjure retro representations of futuristic minimalism. In this sense, layering of fabrics and garments, and strategic positioning of vertical seams accentuate waists and generate volume. At the same time, these cinched shapes are highlighted by juxtaposing rigid square-cut necks, boxy jackets or wide cropped trousers or shorts. The colour palette also evidences the influence of Scandinavian nature, minimalist architecture and design in the fashion realm, with deep blues and greens contrasting with light hues found in plywood, buttermilk, chalk and seeds.
