Saint Laurent Opens First US Store

Saint Laurent Paris, the recently rebranded concept for French fashion maison Yves Saint Laurent under the creative direction of Hedi Slimane, has opened its first store in the USA. Located in Florida’s luxurious Bal Harbour Shops (ranked as the world’s top-producing shopping centre by the International Council of Shopping Centres earlier in 2012), this is the second Saint Laurent store to open in the world, following the inauguration of the first shop in Shanghai in September 2012. Locations for new US stores confirmed to be unveiled within the next few months include Chicago, San Francisco and New York City.

As part of the rebranding of the fashion house, the stores’ design is influenced by French Art Deco and by the Union des Artistes Modernes (French Union of Modern Artists), and incorporates black and white marble, raw concrete, and touches of gold, silver, mirror and glass. Hedi Slimane’s debut collections will be available in the new Saint Laurent Paris stores from January 2013.
