Margaret Howell Menswear Autumn/Winter 2013

As an established voice of British menswear since 1970, Margaret Howell certainly knows what it takes to stay in demand and keep her generations of faithful male consumers engaged with her preppy and minimalist designs. Her menswear collection for Autumn/Winter 2013 (shown in her London store on 8 January 2013 during London Collections: Men as part of the British capital’s biannual menswear showcase) used traditional British fabrics such as Harris tweed, serge twill, Scottish cashmere, hand-knits and argyles in a muted palette of shades of grey with dashes of browns and blues. The silhouette was overall slim and simple, with slightly rounded shoulders in anoraks, short coats and straight trousers that engendered a sense of Parisian intellectual chic reinforced by accessories such as berets and thick-rimmed glasses.
