Canaletto Tower in London by UNStudio Architects

Architecture practice UNStudio has unveiled images of its proposed Canaletto Tower in London. Located at the intersection of areas of the British capital such as Hoxton, Clerkenwell, Shoreditch, Old Street and Islington, the 30-stories building will comprise 190 apartments ranging from studios to penthouses and a top floor devoted to social functions containing a restaurant, health club, swimming pool, private cinema, resident's club, and a terrace with views of the surrounding cityscape.

With its neighbourhoods-in-the-sky approach, the vertical building intends to usher in a new era of residential tower typology that responds to the needs of its individual users. In addition, the multi-faceted design was conceived to create a distinct presence from any angle, eliminating the concept of the unresolved underside of a tall building.
