Christian Dior Celebrated at Harrods

London department store Harrods is paying a tribute to luxury fashion and accessories label Christian Dior in the form of a large-scale store takeover between 16 March and 14 April 2013. Under the theme ‘French Savoir Fair and British charm’, the store’s windows facing the Brompton Road will feature Dior’s colour scheme of grey and white across silhouette cut-outs, and in objects such as London post boxes and telephone boxes. In addition, Royal Beefeaters will wear costumes designed by the house’s creative director, Raf Simons.

Inside the store, the fourth floor will become ‘the ultimate Dior experience’, allowing visitors to come face-to-face with a reconstruction of the façade of the Dior headquarters at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris before exploring a series of different displays, including sketches of couture garments and the actual dresses worn by women such as Elizabeth Taylor, Princess Margaret, Lady Diana, Emma Watson, Marion Cotillard and Jennifer Lawrence. In addition, the Café Dior pop-up restaurant will serve dishes that reflect Christian Dior’s personal love for good food, from lobster club sandwiches to Dior cupcakes.
