Gucci Announces Design Collaboration with Lapo Elkann

Italian luxury label Gucci has announced the launch of ‘Lapo’s Wardrobe’, a new made-to-measure fashion and accessories collection designed by creative director Frida Giannini in partnership with Italian businessman Lapo Elkann.

Described as “a luxury sartorial service for the modern day gentleman”, the personalised range will allow customers to be assisted by specialist staff throughout, from selecting fabrics to fittings to adding final touches (such as the embossing of initials) in a process that will last between four and six weeks. Each piece is customisable for a personal touch and the range of materials will allow for over 178 possible combinations of colours and fabrics.

Scheduled to be launched in June 2013 during Milan Men’s Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2014, and to coincide with the opening of a new dedicated Gucci men’s store, the collection also includes leather goods, shoes and jewellery. The service will initially be available at Gucci boutiques in Milan, London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and São Paulo.
