Foster + Partners design new Comcast Innovation and Technology Center

Global media and technology company Comcast Corporation and real estate firm Liberty Property Trust have commissioned architects Foster + Partners to develop the new Comcast Innovation and Technology Center in Philadelphia.

The 59-story tower, whose construction starts in the summer of 2014, is expected to be the tallest building in the United States outside of New York and Chicago once it is completed in late 2017. Costing $1.2 billion, the building will become a dedicated home for Comcast’s technologists, engineers and software architects, it will host established media companies as well as technology start-ups, and will include a new Four Seasons Hotel in addition to restaurants, gardens, fitness facilities and direct connections to the underground public transport system.
