Met’s Costume Institute to be renamed The Anna Wintour Costume Center

The Metropolitan Museum of Art announced today that it will rename its famous Costume Institute as The Anna Wintour Costume Center once it reopens on 8 May after extensive refurbishment work. Wintour, artistic director of Condé Nast and editor-in-chief of Vogue, has been a trustee of the Museum since January 1999 and, in her role as benefit chair and fundraiser, has raised approximately $125 million for the Institute.
