Fendi opens first store in Germany

Fendi chose Munich as the location for its first ever store in Germany, which was inaugurated on 18 March 2014 by the Italian luxury brand’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld. Located in a nineteenth century building on Maximilianstrasse, the boutique offers Fendi’s womenswear, accessories and footwear collections across two floors occupying 365 square meters.

Fendi marked the opening of the store with the launch of a limited-edition model of the furry Funich Bag Bug, the exhibition The Glory of Water at Munich’s Haus der Kunst featuring photographs of Rome’s fountains taken by Karl Lagerfeld, and a restored version of the fashion film Histoire D’Eau (originally produced by Fendi in 1977) with a corresponding coffee-table book.
