Pringle of Scotland unveils China flagship store

British fashion brand Pringle of Scotland inaugurated its flagship Asian store in Chengdu, China, on 16 April 2014. The interiors of the new retail space, by Swiss studio Atelier Oï, evokes the brand’s Scottish heritage by adapting the distinctive Pringle diamond-shaped argyle patterns throughout.

Oak lattice screens and layers of glass and gun metal create overlapping diamonds in the shop windows, a design device that can also be found in the display units, lights and other store fittings. Equally, a triangular area of the space is marked out by timber panelling covers, and wooden shelving is suspended from criss-crossing wire cords on the side walls.
