Demonstrating once more a strong signature style anchored by the exploration of the qualities and textures of materials to the benefit of clothes and accessories, Raeburn developed accomplished pieces that reused military fabrics and garments from parachutes, pilot flight suits and rain capes in contrast with smart lightweight Merino wool.
The result, unveiled during the latest edition of London Collections: Men, was a veritable parade of suits, jackets, trousers, shorts, crew necks, bombers, gilets, hoodies and T-shirts that revealed contemporary silhouettes with bulbous dimensions subtly crafted through quilting, oversizing and belting techniques. A colour palette of classic military aviation colours (namely olive green, black, grey, white and orange) was applied throughout the clothes range and in accessories such as zipped tote bags, backpacks and multifunctional holdalls in what is, quite possibly, Christopher Raeburn's most mature and skilful menswear collection to date.
