Foster + Partners design HQ for Russian copper firm RMK

Architecture practice Foster + Partners have unveiled designs for the new headquarters of Russian company RMK, one of the world’s leading producers of copper. Located in Yekaterinburg next to a public park and overlooking the city and its river, the proposed 13-storey building is clad in large triangular glazed and bronze-coloured steel panels, and features a 12-metre high lobby, scenic lifts, and an innovative modular office unit system.

The practice is also responsible for the interiors of the energy-efficient project, with a focus on tactile materials and a warm palette of natural tones applied to wood, stone and textiles, and contrasting with the enveloping glass and metal.
