London welcomes avant-garde menswear

As part of a multi-million pound redevelopment of its London flagship department store, Selfridges has recently unveiled Designer West, a new area devoted to selling menswear labels that share a focus on exploring conceptual references, on resorting to artistic and boundary-pushing design, and on celebrating accomplished craftsmanship.

Designed by architect Alex Cochrane, the 3,110 square-foot space is located on the first floor of the Oxford Street store, and welcomes 12 new brands of ready-to-wear and accessories for men (including Alexandre Plokhov, Casely-Hayford, Isabel Benenato, Sacai, and Sibling) that join established labels at Selfridges such as Ann Demuelemeester, Comme des Garçons, Haider Ackermann, Wooyoungmi, and Yohji Yamamoto.
