Pharrell Williams and G-Star unveil recycled denim collection

Denim clothing company G-Star has revealed ‘RAW for the oceans’, a collection conceived in collaboration with singer Pharrell Williams made from bionic yarn, an eco-thread of fibres derived from recycled plastic bottles. Comprising men’s and women’s garments and accessories, the Autumn/Winter 2014 collection is the result of collecting and transforming more than 10 tonnes of plastics found in the sea into a new generation of denim fabrics.

The collection features jeans, jumpsuits, bomber jackets, coats, shirts, t-shirts, sweatshirts and caps in shades of indigo blue and black. On a few occasions, ‘Otto’ the octopus (the initiative’s mascot) makes an appearance morphed into the prints.
