The most beautiful homes in the world: Casa AL in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, by Studio Arthur Casas

São Paulo-based architecture practice Studio Arthur Casas has unveiled photographs of Casa AL, a three-storey private residence located on a hill outside Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Working against an original plot that did not offer direct views of the sea, the property was designed to maximise sightlines towards the ocean by relocating the entrance, social areas and the infinity pool to the first floor.

The house has direct access from the higher level of a steep adjoining street and the guestrooms and service areas at ground level are surrounded by an enclosed garden. Living accommodation is articulated around the swimming pool, with large glass panels breaking the division between internal and external spaces.
